The History of Men's Magazines, by Dian Hanson. Four (4) volumes, hardcover, lavishly (and explicitly) illustrated. Text in English, German, and French. Excellent condition. On Amazon, these 4 volumes currently cost over $300. From a review: "The stories are sometimes moving, funny, quirky, interesting and really tell the story of the first half of the 20th century and 2 world wars through the lens of the men's magazine. Where the book really shines is in the archival photos and drawings. This thing is like a museum of the sexy, quirky, cheeky, sleazy, low-brow art of the working class. Some of it is problematic in hindsight, but it is the story of the men and women who built the modern US. There are literally hundreds of archival covers/pictures."
